Welcome to another rip-roaring issue of About Faces Entertainment news! This issue is so jam-packed with fun and excitement it will leave you flabbergasted! July is the official half way mark of the year, so if you’ve been putting off booking your event for this year… now is the time to do it! Give us a call at 1-800-923-8669 to get the most stupendous entertainment around!
Independence Day
It’s that time of the year again… break out the BBQ and call up the family because it’s time for a giant picnic in honor of our nation’s birthday! Did you know that in 1778 George Washington celebrated the 4th by giving all of his soldiers a double ration of rum? Things have changed a little bit since then, but we still party just as hard every Independence Day!
If you call today we will still have time to find you that special entertainer to make it all come together. It could be a caricature artist, stilt walker (see our featured artist, Mr. Bump), balloon sculptor, or anything else! Give us a call to see who’s available!
Chris got Hitched!
Congratulations go out to a longtime About Faces employee, Chris! On June 20th he got married to the love of his life, who also happens to be named Kris…coincidence or fate?
Speaking of weddings, are you or someone you know getting married this summer? Are you looking for entertainment for your reception? A caricature artist would be a perfect way for your guests to remember the magical time they will have at your wedding!
Baltimore’s Birthday is July 30th!
As some of you may know, About Faces is based out of Ellicott City, a suburb of Baltimore. We’re very proud to be a part of this great city, so in honor of Baltimore’s birthday, here are some interesting facts about Charm City:
1. Baltimore was the second U.S. city to reach 100,000 people, surpassed only by NYC.
2. Baltimore has 11 Sister Cities, including 2 in Egypt.
3. Inhabitants of Baltimore are called “Baltimoreans” and they speak “Bawlamerese”.
4. Fells Point, one of Baltimore’s most popular neighborhoods, was featured in the movie Sleepless in Seattle.
5. Baltimore is home of the World’s Greatest Entertainment Booking Agency, About Faces Entertainment! (Ok, we made this one up, but we think it’s true!)
Are you in the spirit to celebrate yet? If so, give us a call! We have plenty of entertainers in the Baltimore area that would love to party with you! Check out our caricature artists, magicians, clowns, face painters, and henna artists in “Bawldamore”!
Christmas in July
By now, many of you know Steve, one of the agents in our office. Steve has decided to start collecting toys in the office so that we can donate them to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation come December. So far, he has a pretty decent collection, but he needs your help! If you have any toys, action figures, or dolls still in the package… send them to us or bring them in! We will do a new count every couple of months to see how far we have come! If you would like to mail us a toy, you can send it to:

How did you
get into the entertainment business?
In
1997, fellow entertainer Mark Lohr told me that a local casting agency was
looking for “juggling elves.” The rest is
history.
What’s your
favorite type of event?
I like
events where they feed the entertainers.
What’s your
most memorable event?
Franco
Zeffirelli’s “I Pagliacci” for the Washington Opera and PBS. Not only the most
memorable event, but my first! I would have done it for free and was
quite surprised when they sent me a contract indicating they’d pay me.
My mom was so proud!
The gig at the Vice
Presidential Mansion where Secret Service Agents made me go through a complete
security check while dressed as Uncle Sam on stilts was interesting as
well.
