Northern Virginia, Washington DC, and most of Maryland. About Faces was kind enough to get me a special gig in Charlotte, North Carolina last year, if you are interested in entertainment from Illusions by Vick please ask, I travel!
What type of Entertainment do you Provide?:
Unique, Though Provoking and Amazing Magical Experiences. I try to be more than just a magician, when clients hire me they get an entertainer whose chosen medium is magic and illusion. It’s a full show with stories, adventures and experiences wrapped around the effects.
Number of years in the business:
11 performing professionally, in the early years I played some of the most challenging venues you could imagine including nightclubs and doing warm up with guests in theaters. You become very good, very quickly or you don’t have a job.
How did you get into the entertainment business?
I didn’t find magic (or it didn’t find me) until I was an adult. I was in Las Vegas at a convention and got sucked in by one of the hawkers (demonstrators) while walking through the mall in the Venetian. Within 3 years I was a hawker, demonstrating and selling magic at tourist spots and large local malls during the Christmas Season. From there I was hired by a mega-plex cinema to do warm up with their guests and everything grew from there. There is nothing like doing the same 5-minute show 25 times a day, 3 days a weekend to shape you and help make you a good performer. Then come up with a new 5-minute show for the next weekend and do that for 3 years.
What’s your favorite type of event?
The one I just finished and the next one I am about to perform. Actually I like them all. I lean a little more to adult or all age events, believe it or not I get a lot of requests to perform for proms or the prom after parties. Also I perform as Professor Snape about 12 times a year and that’s always a lot of fun. I’m expected to be a surly, nasty and generally foul person and audiences eat it up.
What’s your most memorable event?
The one you are getting ready to book me for 😉 . Sorry I had to do it. There is something special with every audience and every audience touches me in some way. It might sound corny or unbelievable but it’s the way I am and what I think allows me to go out and want to give the best possible show every single time.
This is the end of the interview, thank you for reading it. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me through About Faces Entertainment. About Faces Entertainment really does a great job providing the best entertainment for your function. I can tell you as a performer About Faces Entertainment really goes the extra step with their performers to make sure you are getting the best entertainer for you function. They have always been a great experience for me and well, you can’t always say that about every agency.
Best Wishes,
Vick

Saint Patrick’s Day Fun Facts!
*According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the highest number of leaves found on a clover is 14!
*Legend says that each leaf of the clover means something: the first is for hope, the second for faith, the third for love and the fourth for luck.
*The real St. Patrick wasn’t even Irish.
*According to St. Patrick’s Day lore, Patrick used the three leaves of a shamrock to explain the holy trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
*As for whether or not the U.K.’s cold winter is a sign of climate change, the answer is, probably not, experts say.
*Another St. Patrick myth is the claim that he banished snakes from Ireland. However there have never been snakes in Ireland.
*Eighteenth-century Irish soldiers fighting with the British in the U.S. *Revolutionary War held the first St. Patrick’s Day parades. Some soldiers, for example, marched through New York City in 1762 to reconnect with their Irish roots.
*In 1962 the show of solidarity took a spectacular turn in Chicago when the city decided to dye a portion of the Chicago River green.
*On any given day 5.5 million pints of Guinness, the famous Irish stout brand, are consumed around the world.
*But on St. Patrick’s Day, that number more than doubles to 13 million pints.

Cristina A. arrived 15 minutes ahead of schedule in order to set up and be ready to start serving the customers right at 1:00. She was prepared with a table cloth and paints, including our last minute request of red, white and blue, in order to create some patriotic themed face art in keeping with the theme, “The American Dream Starts at Your Library.” Both children and adults had their faces painted.
This is the second time we have used the services of About Faces and I can attest to the professionalism and quality of the artists you supply. I would certainly use your services again in the future and encourage other libraries to consider using face painting as an event enhancing activity with artist from About Faces. -Nancy, Thomas Jefferson Library,
