Sylvia was born and raised in Houston, TX. She studied drawing at a young age at the Art Instruction Schools of Minneapolis Minnesota. In Junior High School, she won the overall grand prize in an art contest which led her study and graduate from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston.
