Richard C - North Carolina Caricature Artists
Richard started doing caricature as part of editorial cartooning, 1982-88 for various newspapers, taking a 1st place award in statewide journalism competition. He began focusing on caricature for it's own sake, working at Carrowinds Theme Park in 1986. In '87 he graduated from Davidson College and did caricature for a season in Myrtle Beach, SC, then settled in The Triangle area of North Carolina where he has been a professional event caricaturist ever since. He has drawn in every major venue in the area and at every major university in the state, and in 2007 he entertained at the ACC Football Championship in Jacksonville, Fla. He has also taught drawing and cartooning for over 25 years to all ages at various arts centers, and in 2002 was awarded an Artist's Residency at Guy B. Phillips Middle School by the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission.
