Leona H - Maine Caricature Artists

Leona has lived in Maine for over twenty years and has loved drawing faces all her life. In junior high her friends would pay her to draw portraits of famous celebrities for them, and drawing portraits continued to be a part of her artistic toolbox as she grew up. She went on to attend UMass at Dartmouth and received a Bachelors in Visual Design/Illustration. She later studied art education in Maine.

Her resume includes portraiture in watercolor, colored pencil, pastel, and oil, as well as children’s book illustrations and silhouettes. She has had many experiences cutting silhouettes at festivals, historic houses, weddings and other events. This led Leona to want to add caricatures to her artistic toolbox.

Her caricatures are fun and personal. She loves creating a unique happening within your event that brings pleasure to your guests and also gives them a special keepsake to take home. As she also has a background in music as a singer songwriter, beware, she could break out in song at any time while drawing your caricature! Feel free to hum along!

Leona has done caricatures at bar mitzvahs, corporate events, graduation parties, birthday parties, harbour tours, fundraisers, splash parks, fairs and festivals in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachussetts. Some of her clients have included LLBean in Freeport, ME, Casco Bay Tours in Portland, ME, Liquid Planet in Candia, NH, Strawberry Festival, South Berwick, Me. Somersworth International CHildren's Festival, Somersworth, NH, and Franklin County Fair in Greenfield, MA.
