Judy T - Connecticut Caricature Artists

Judy has been drawing people since she was a child, having a particular fascination with faces! After taking many art classes in school, and even drawing "Binky" for her application to an art correspondence course with Art Instruction Schools in Minneapolis, she knew a career in art was inevitable. She received a BFA in Graphic Communications from Paier College of Art in Hamden, Connecticut after realizing that was her best chance at not becoming a starving artist!

After many happy years as a professional graphic designer, a layoff propelled her to pursue her first love and unique talent: drawing faces professionally — drawings that are decidedly different than what you may see at theme parks, and capture a flattering likeness! Since 2003, she has been in her element, drawing hundreds of people of all ages young and old, at least 3 of those years almost exclusively (yes her “day job”)! Some of her favorite moments are when she is conversing with her subjects. Some related perks have been being selected to compete in a portrait cookie decorating contest on the Food Network in the mid 2000's, for which she won a medal affixed with a cookie, and being featured in 2009 on a cable access show discussing her art and then drawing the host!
