Elisa grew up a "military brat," which meant moving around a lot and coming into contact with many different people, cultures, and customs. This gave her an open mind and an appreciation for the diversity of the world, beauty, and art. She learned how to mix, cone, and apply all-natural henna during a class at the Smithsonian, and fell instantly in love with it. She decided she wanted to do it for her own wedding the following year, so she started practicing all the time. Through the Internet, Elisa connected with many other henna artists around the world and learned much more about the history, culture(s), and safe use of henna for body art. While she still loves everything about DOING henna body art, her favorite part is now the joy on people's faces when they love their henna designs!
