Don E - Arizona Caricature Artists

Don starting drawing portraits of people when he was 5 years old. He kept up with it while growing up. The first picture he drew that actually looked like the person was the third picture he tried. Sean Connery as James Bond. People saw the drawing and inspired Don to keep going. Life went on and Don did not do much with the talent he had as an adult. Occasionally he would draw a nice portrait of a girlfriend and he did do some art work for a weekly newspaper - ink drawings for ads and a cartoon page. By the time Don reached his 40's, he decided he needed to do something with his talent, even if it was just on the side. He drew some really nice charcoal portraits of some nostalgic famous people and sold them all right away. John Wayne, Elvis Presley, Humphrey Bogart, Marilyn Monroe, and Michael Jackson after his death. Don moved back to Arizona from California in 2010. He posted some of these portraits online and a lady adverising her website for Caricature Artists, Facepainters, Balloon Twisters,  etc. Party type Art, got in touch with Don. She stated that if he could draw portraits like that, then he could definitely draw caricatures of people. Don decided to give it a try at a 3 day festival and after that he was introduced to other caricature artists. He decided to go for it full time and that is what Don has been doing since 2010. He draws at parties, weddings, bar mitzvahs, employee parties, festivals, and fairs.
