Chris R - Wisconsin Caricature Artists

Chris is an award-winning caricature artist and freelance illustrator who has drawn ever since he could hold a pencil. His enrollment at the Academy of Art University and the University of Wisconsin educated him in various art forms, including Character Animation, Graphic Design and Illustration. Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1999.

His career as a professional caricature artist began in 1998, when Chris applied for a summer job at Valleyfair Amusement Park in Minnesota. There he received hands-on training and quickly developed the technical skills involved with drawing and airbrushing live caricatures.

Chris worked two more summers at Valleyfair, becoming the Caricature Art Assistant-Manager. During winters, he drew caricatures at shopping malls, as well as for event entertainment. Chris also ventured nation-wide to draw at some of the busiest state fairs in the country. He even traveled across the world to draw caricatures, traveling as far as Tokyo, JAPAN.

Since his career began, Chris has personally drawn thousands of caricatures at hundreds of locations while working at amusement parks, state fairs, shopping malls, corporate events and private parties. In fact, he estimates drawing over 50,000 live caricatures!

Recognized as a “Master Caricature Artist” by the International Society of Caricature Artists, Chris is the recipient of 15 awards, including the first place GOLDEN NOSEY AWARD for "Caricaturist of the Year" in 2006. He is also a nationally published illustrator and his illustrations have been featured in a variety of publications, such as FHM, FLEX and PLAYBOY to name a few.

Chris resides in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, serving both Wisconsin and Minnesota for live caricature entertainment. His ability to capture a humorous likeness has clients requesting him again and again, upholding his reputation as one of America's premier caricature artists.
