Chris G - New York Caricature Artists

Chris is a well-established Caricaturist in the New York area, where she has, for 23 years, run her own company. She works at parties such as bar mitzvahs, birthdays, communions, picnics and office parties. She typically works 4 to 5 hours at a time, averaging 10 to 12 people per hour. Chris earned her BFA degree from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, while drawing caricatures at local coffee houses on weekends. After college she studied portrait painting at the Art Student’s League in New York 

At a party, each person (or couple) is asked about his/her favorite activity/ sport/ scene. Chris has visual knowledge of sport team uniforms and the various positions played, as well as dog breeds. Using 11 by 14 inch white paper, She uses her knowledge to draw a full-face caricature in the requested pose, with markers, shading in with color pencil sticks, and she places the finished work in a clear plastic envelope.

Chris is usually found in her Long Island studio, drawing large sign-in boards based on photos provided by her clients. She also draws sign-in-books and gift caricatures for that special event or person. Chris is a member of the National Caricaturists Network, and is listed in the current issue of “Who’s Who in American Art”
