Ambika has always been fascinated with various types of art. She was born and raised in the beautiful Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago. Carnival was her first introduction to a vibrant and colorful art form that is the heartbeat of the islands. Being of Indian descent has also bestowed upon her the elegant and delicate blessing that is henna. Her henna journey started as a distraction- stress relief from her job as a high school teacher. She started playing around with henna-like drawings and eventually picked up a cone to create the rest of her henna history. Henna takes her to a place where time stands still and her mind releases all her creative energy. Ambika mixes her own all natural paste so that it is free from all toxic dyes and harmful chemicals. Her fresh paste also ensures that the henna stains are dark.
