Rachel D - California Face Painters

Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Rachel has been a lifelong artist. Despite being in the field of finance, she always had her hands in the Arts. As a guild member in Oak Park, IL, Rachel would curate shows that involved music, dance, visual arts, poetry etc.

When she moved to California at 25, she attended Moorpark College where she received her Associates degree in Liberal Arts. She continued to host gallery shows locally, with the help of like minded artists and dancers.

It wasn't until she had a child of her own that Rachel became interested in face painting. As her child grew, his want for the whimsical creatures on his face and arms, she bought face paints and started to learn. Friends with children of the same age started having birthday parties, and asked Rachel to paint the kids. There were many trial and errors to be had, as painting on children is a lot different than canvas, but she kept at it. One party continued to the next and before she knew it, it became a business. With the unending drive to always learn and do better, Rachel has continued to teach herself new and exciting ways to work quicker, smarter and more colorful, all while making her living canvas shriek with joy after seeing their finished design. Kids and adults alike always leave Rachel's chair with a smile!
