Growing up in the Pacific Northwest molded Michael's affinity of caricature and humor. Michael’s love of caricature was inspired by Al Hirschfeld and Seattle cartoonist, Bob McCausland. This early influence, infused with a sense of humor inspired by Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy, Chuck Jones and local Seattle legend, J.P. Patches, is reflected in many facets of his art. Now a resident of Reno, Nevada, Michael’s unique sense of humor and absurdity continues to bring smiles to the faces of those who understand humor and consternation to those on the receiving end of his biting satire. Michael has proven over and over again, that the pen is indeed mightier than the sword.
