Pippi - Montana Clowns

Pippi is one of our Clowns in Red Lodge:

Pippi was trained as a professional actress and a director and has taught theater and acting at New College, Sarasota, FL; The New School for Social Research in New York City; The San Francisco Art Institute; and independently in Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, and California.  She was so serious and loved to direct Greek Tragedies when she met Bob Taxin, Beppo the Clown, who was an instructor from Ringling Barnum & Bailey Clown School and he encouraged and trained her in all the basics skills of clowning and many classic gags. Beppo also introduced Pippi to Peggy Ford, Noodle the Clown, also of Ringling Barnum & Bailey, who later became the educational director (and many other things besides) of San Francisco Circus Center.  Both of these wonderful clowns worked with her and trained her in clowning, circus arts, and ethics.  She met Bob when she was directing a show with students of the well know Mime, "Leonard Pitt" in San Francisco.  He encouraged her to pursue clowning.

That was all more than 20 years ago and very fortunately clowning has become Pippi’s life and her profession.  Pippi has now toured widely performing at events, celebrations, parties, and many county fairs all across the Rocky Mountain States as well as California and the rest of the world. She has performed at The World Friendship Festival in Osaka, Japan; as well as in Cairo, Egypt, all over Mexico and the United States.  She has taught widely and maintained a professional clown company for many, many years in the San Francisco Bay Area; writing, designing, training, directing, and performing original shows and in festivals and holiday and family celebrations.

Pippi performs Magic, both shows and walk around, creates beautiful balloon sculptures and hats,  as well as paints marvelous faces and arm and leg designs, leads games and MC’ s many events.  She has costumes and characters for almost every occasion and will create custom characters for your company and event!

Also will appear as inky the Clown Witch, Tricksy The Elf, Harlequeen, Rosetta the Princess, or Flopsy the Bunny.
